Before we went to Palm Springs we had Christmas with Josh's family. Ellie is obsessed with Elmo. Grandma and Grandpa Burnham hit it right on. She couldn't have been more excited. She was literally shaking with excitement.

What can I say about Sydney without bragging....nothing really. She is SMART, sweet, beautiful, an amazing sister, and is always making sure everyone is happy. She loves to read (she is one of the top readers in her class), she is taking piano lessons, and will start swim again once it gets above 30 degrees. She is so excited that she is one year closer to turning 8 so she can be baptized! (and get her ears pierced)

We celebrated in Midway with family. We saw beautiful Nativities on

display and the cutest gingerbread houses you have ever seen, then headed to

Park City for Cafe Rio and the best Cupcakes! We ended at temple square

to see the Christmas lights.

one night we went downtown with some friends we met for a charity event. they had a bbq and live music. then when the sun went down they were going to play a movie on the side of the building. it was a nice night until it started pouring rain. i mean POURING! we waited for about 10 minutes hoping it would clear up. we ended up leaving and missing the movie. it was still a night to remember.

we have been in louisville, Ky all summer. land of horses, and have been enjoying every minute of it. it's gone by so fast that we already leave on friday so we can get back to utah for sydney to start school. before we left i wanted to put some pictures up of some stuff we have done here.

i made this post forever ago and just had it saved as a draft. so here it is published. i haven't blogged forever because our old computer is a dinosaur and takes FOREVER to do anything. so we got a new one but josh takes it to work everyday. hopefully i will be able to get alot of updating done soon.

The other day we got home and there was 5 deer in our yard. We have alot of yard, but we are still in the middle of the city. I have no idea how they made their way over. We thought it was pretty cool though.

The beautiful 'Bella" as a vampire...she wouldn't be anything else. At first she just wanted to be a vampire. Then she decided she was Bella. Next year she said she is going to be the regular Bella. I guess we are out of the princess phase.

We feasted and trick-or-treated with the Wood's up in Sugarhouse. Amazing food, good company, and LOTS of candy. It was an awesome Halloween.

she had a death grip on her pumpkin all night. she was not gonna share her candy.

She figured out what candy was really quick. Now if she sees anyone eating it she will scream til you share.

it's totally OCD but I have to blog everything that i missed before i blog what's going on now. so sorry. this was our last few weeks in Palm Springs. soaking up the sun and having fun with family before we took off to utah. sydney and her cousin mckenna love each other like sisters. jacob is the sweetest little guy. and my cousin emz is the best. we had so much fun with them.

my grandparents love my girls so much and we are really going to miss seeing them so often.

my dad and i took the tram and did a long hike around the mountain. this was when all the fires were going on so it was really smokey.

and i got to watch my littlest sis, Niki, play highschool volleyball. she is far left. i can't believe she is already in high school! we are going to miss alot of people that i don't have pictures of but know we love you.

we also got to say good bye to some good friends in pasadena. so sad.

i'm so glad we were able to stop by and visit rebecca and her new baby tate. he is so cute!

So I am finally making a new post because I hear people are sick of seeing the same thing when they run by my blog. An update is much in need though.
As you can only imagine, owning a car dealership in L.A. in this wonderful economy wasn't the best thing, so Josh started to get crafty and looked else where to take care of us. He got a new job as a Regional Manager of a marking company called Incite Marketing.
In September we moved up to Orem, Utah. Yes, I know what you are thinking. But I am actually loving it. We just moved into really cool mid-century home complete with pink bathroom and green kitchen counter. It sounds horrible but it's so cute and right up our ally. I will put pictures up later. Anyways, the house is on over 3 acres and has the most amazing view of Provo, the mountains, and the temple. We have more room then we have ever had and have plenty of room for guests so come visit us!! This is one of the wonderful things about Utah. Basements and cheap living. We miss all our friends and family in Palm Springs and Pasadena ALOT. Luckily two of my sisters are here and we have some great friends who are making the move much easier.Sydney is in kindergarten and couldn't possibly love it more. She has already made alot of new friends and can't wait to go to school everyday. Ellie is ONE!!! and walking....but she is so much fun. One of my best friends Paulette took pictures of her right before we left Palm Springs. Here is the link. She is amazing!!

Trying new things. She will finally put food in her mouth without gagging! She doesn't love baby food but will take 3 to 4 bites, every other day. She loves the puffs and baby mum mums. She has tried brown rice and grapes and loves them. That is the extent of her diet, besides breast milk. I don't think she will ever stop nursing. She is still supre chunky though.

These are the famous Beignets from Cafe Du Monde. It's the french doughnut. Pretty much a scone, or fried dough covered with powdered sugar. They are so good though.

July 4th

On july 3rd all the wives went to scope out the town to find the best place to watch the firework show. We ended up taking the fairy from downtown New Orleans to the otherside of the Mississippi and watching it in a more family friendly area. These are some pictures my friend, Kristen took that day. It was warm but a beautiful night.

They finally got all the licensing all done for Louisiana so the office moved on over to New Orleans. I never thought I would ever visit, let alone LIVE here but I actually love it. (not at first) These are just some pics from a day walking around downtown. There is so much to do here!

Part 2. San Antonio Texas

So we all know Texas is a huge state. Ya, well it's even bigger when you are driving through it. By yourself. With two kids and a dog.
One of the highlights: roadkill including, wild hogs, wolves, armadillos ect. I was planning on taking 2 days to make the drive but Sydney was so excited to get there she didn't want to stop, so we just made the drive in one long day.

Sydney drove in my parents car the first day. Life was good.

We finally blessed Little Chummy this weekend in Palm Springs. We were sad Josh's family wasn't able to be there. It was a very special day and Josh gave a beautiful blessing.

My Sydney... AKA Beast

Josh is big on nick names and is always coming up with some totally weird or random thing to call my girls. Sydney grew up as Gums (cause of the whole no teeth thing when your a baby) among many others. At some point during the years, (yes years!) when Sydney was in the terrible 2 stage, she got the nick name "Beast." It stuck and is now her official nick name but it's meant to be endearing now. So if you hear us call our sweet little girl "Beast," you know it's with love. So my little Beast is growing up so fast. She LOVES her baby and we have so much fun with her.

She is learning how to read and loves to practice reading to Ellie.

Her new thing is to make her own food. That means anything she can
get her hands on in the kitchen goes into one bowl of yumminess.

Okay, maybe not so yummy, but so fun. This turned in to ...

She even baked it. Yay! It made the house smell wonderful for hours.
(She put a bunch of different spices in there...) Thanks Beast!

I decided to help her make something edible. We made Josh's favorite,
Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. Aunt Victoria's recipe.
(FYI, we don't usually bake in the nude. just on special occasions)

Every night after she brushes her teeth she gets mine
and Josh's toothbrushes and mouthwash all ready for us. Such a sweetie.

She is no longer a beast, but she's our Beast and we love her.

A New Year

We brought in the New Year watching the Trojans of course. Well most of it. The girls and I snuck off and went to a movie. We saw Bedtime Stories and loved it. Josh's brother Adam and friend Jeff were in town to watch the rest of it with Josh. We missed the Rose Parade, that was down the street. How lame is that? But we managed to make it to Saladang's and Squeeze and Scoop the next day. You can't visit us without getting frozen yogurt with us there. It's our fav.

Christmas in Palm Springs

So this is pretty typical for me. I'm over a month behind. What are you gonna do? We had an awesome Christmas at my parents in Palm Springs. Well besides the sickness. Christmas day my mom and two sisters ( Jes and Amanda) threw up all day. Sad. I didn't get alot of pictures and now I look back on it and think there was so much more I could have gotten pics of. Like maybe a family pic by the tree. Duh. But here is what I did get.

Santa brought her doll! The only thing she asked for, but it was missing a shoe. It was the only doll left. That's what happens when you procrastinate :)

Just when we thought she couldn't get any cuter, she starts giggling. She was in her bouncy chair kind of fussing so Josh picked her up. She made the saddest face like she was going to start crying and then all the sudden she started laughing. I don't think she knew what she was doing. It just came out, but she kept doing it. I ran and grabbed my camera and got most of it on film. She's 11 weeks old.

Since I'm new to this whole blogging thing, my sister-in-law, Elise, was showing me a few things. Picasa 3 is my new favorite thing. It makes blogging so easy. Josh and I were watching a stand up comic on TV and he was talking about when his wife was pregnant. He just got home from a long day of work, exhausted. He said it looked like his wife hadn't done anything all day. So of course he says irritated, " Hi, Honey. What did you do today?" She says, " I made a lung!" He definately backed off after that. So it seems like I haven't been doing much lately but trust me I have. Here's proof. (3 months along and 8 months)

My baby has started school! Preschool, but still sad. She is loving it, of course. She hasn't even complained once about having to wake up at 7AM. ( She usually wakes up around 9 or 9:30) She loves having the deliciously healthy breakfast there. Peanut butter and jelly bar or pancake on a stick -Yuck! Most days it is just cereal, thankfully.

So I decided to start a blog to show the videos of Sydney dancing and playing soccer and update everyone on the new addition to the fam. I go to blogspot.com and my e-mail was already in the system.
